When it comes time to freshen up your bathroom, you can’t go wrong with tile. Tile comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and materials. You’ll be sure to find a tile that will give you the look in your bathroom that you’ve been wanting.

One option for you to consider in your bathroom home improvement is glass mosaic tile. Glass mosaic tile in small squares makes an absolutely stunning design for bathrooms. They are so small that they fit well over all the surfaces in your shower, including steps and shelves. They come in a wide array of colors for you to choose from. Sea blue looks absolutely beautiful, particularly in a gleaming white bathroom. Glass tile is perfect for a bathroom setting because it resists moisture, repels bacteria and stains, and is low on maintenance. All you need is a moist mop or sponge to clean it. Don’t use cleaners with abrasives because they could scratch the tile.

Another tried and true tile for the bathroom that has been around for years is subway tile. People usually think of white, rectangular 3 x 6-inch rectangular tile when they think of subway tile. That is the standard subway, which works so well in many different rooms of the house. But today it also comes in a variety of sizes, colors and materials. You can be so creative with it. One variety of subway tile is an oversized 4 x 19 contemporary-look rectangular tile by Ann Sacks. It looks incredible, and a special way to use it is in concert with a tiny type of tile, like penny-round tile. The possibilities of combinations of colors and tiles are limitless.

When it comes to using tile, thinking outside of the box will give you even even more options. For example, liner tiles are thin tiles often used to make a border around larger tiles. But why not tile a whole wall with them? It will definitely become a focal point for your bathroom. And who says subway tile must be laid horizontally? What if you used it vertically?

Perhaps you already have some older tile in your bathroom. If it’s in good shape and you like it, keep it and hire a tile refinishing expert to spruce it up for you. Then think about combining it with a new tile of some sort. You could create a truly unique bathroom by combining the old with the new.

As you explore the possibilities with tile, you’ll find that tile is a versatile way to create a bathroom of your dreams. It will last for years, can be economical, and most of the time, you can hire a tile refinishing expert to give it a like-new sheen. What’s not to like?
